Haotian Jiang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Chicago. Prior to this, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Algorithms Group at Microsoft Research, Redmond, and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Washington within the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering, advised by Yin Tat Lee.
Research interests include:
- Algorithm design and optimization
- Submodular function minimization
- Discrepancy theory and its applications
- High-dimensional probability
- Matrix and tensor concentration inequalities
Teaching Experience:
- Current courses at UChicago: Geometric Discrepancy Theory (CMSC/MATH 39600-1) and High-Dimensional Probability with Applications in Data Science (CMSC 31801-1) in Autumn 2024.
- Teaching assistant at University of Washington: Robustness in Machine Learning (CSE 599M) (Fall 2019) and Intro to Quantum Computing (CSE 599Q) (Winter 2022).
