Hao Wang

Hao Wang is a Postdoc researcher at the ELSA (Ethical, Legal and Social Aspects) Lab within the Department of Philosophy at Wageningen University & Research. He focuses on developing ethical frameworks for responsible AI in agri-food systems, emphasizing governance, transparency, and societal impacts. His work bridges academia, government, and industry to ensure AI aligns with ethical, legal, and social standards.

Wang holds a PhD in AI Ethics and Politics from the University of Amsterdam (2022). Previously, he contributed to an Ethics Review Toolkit at TU Delft. He is involved in the NWO-funded AI4SFS Lab, aiming to create methodologies for ethical AI in agriculture, including tools and case studies.

His research interests span algorithmic transparency, AI ethics in dating apps, ecological philosophy, and structural challenges in AI governance. Publications explore topics like manipulative transparency mechanisms and Zhuangzi’s ecological perspectives.
