معرفی
Hany Ibrahim is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Pharmacy, Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, within the Faculty of Natural Sciences I - Biosciences. He is a member of the Medicinal Chemistry group, focusing on the development of small molecule inhibitors and PROTACs targeting histone-modifying enzymes, particularly HDACs.
His research lies at the intersection of chemical biology and drug discovery, with applications in oncology, neurodegenerative disorders, and infectious diseases. Funded by the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, his work aims to design isoform-selective HDAC inhibitors and develop novel PROTACs for targeted degradation of HDAC class I isoforms (HDAC 1, 2, 3, 8).
His research interests include:
- Targeted protein degradation via ubiquitin-proteasome system
- Epigenetic regulation through HDAC modulation
- Hybrid heterobifunctional molecules (PROTACs)
- Chromatin structure and gene expression control
The research has broad implications for treating diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and latent HIV infection.
Scientific Support and Recognition:
- Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Funding
Professional Profiles: His scholarly output can be explored via Google Scholar, Publons, and ResearchGate.
Research Team and Affiliation: He conducts his research within the Medicinal Chemistry group under the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Clinical Pharmacy, contributing to the university’s strong presence in pharmaceutical sciences and chemical biology.
