Dr. Hans de Kruijf is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cultural Anthropology at Utrecht University's Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. Appointed in 2008 after completing his PhD at Utrecht University in 2006, his research examines the intersection of globalization, identity, and digital technology. His doctoral work analyzed diasporic Indianness among descendants of indentured laborers in Guyana, while his current multi-sited project explores Muslim affiliation in Indo-Guyanese communities across Guyana, New York, and Toronto.
