Hans Simons (1893–1972) was a German-born political scientist, lawyer, and academic administrator. He served as a Professor of Political Science at the German School of Politics (1925–1930), Dean of the Graduate Faculty of Political and Social Science at the New School (1943–1950), and President of the New School (1950–1960). His work focused on international law, constitutional governance, and democratic institutions.

Key Contributions: Post-WWII, he advised the U.S. military government in Germany, playing a pivotal role in shaping the Grundgesetz (Basic Law) as a liaison to the Parliamentary Council. His later work with the Ford Foundation focused on education reforms in India and Latin America.
