معرفی
Professor Hans Schöler is a leading stem cell biologist and Director of the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine in Münster, Germany. He holds simultaneous academic roles as Professor at the Medical Faculty of the University of Münster, Distinguished Professor at UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology) and Konkuk University in South Korea, as well as Adjunct Professorships at the University of Pennsylvania and Hannover Medical School. His research focuses on pluripotency mechanisms, stem cell reprogramming, and organoid modeling for regenerative medicine.
Key affiliations include leadership roles in the ISSCR (International Society for Stem Cell Research) Board since 2015, and active participation in the Cells-in-Motion (CiM) Cluster of Excellence. Dr. Schöler’s work bridges basic research and clinical translation, emphasizing ethical communication of stem cell research to the public and policymakers.
Research interests span molecular regulation of pluripotency (Oct4/Sox2 networks), organoid-based disease modeling, and epigenetic reprogramming strategies. Recent work explores applications in neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Parkinson’s, frontotemporal dementia) and liver fibrosis through organoid systems.
His contributions have advanced methodologies for induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) generation, somatic cell reprogramming, and high-throughput organoid screening platforms integrated with AI analysis. He remains a vocal advocate for responsible science communication and public education about stem cell technologies.
