Hans-Peter Günther

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Peter Günther serves as Professor of Steel and Composite Construction at Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences (HFT Stuttgart), where he has been Dean of the Master's Program in Structural Engineering since 2019. Previously, he held leadership roles at the University of Stuttgart including Chief Engineer and Deputy Director at the Institute of Engineering Design (2001-2007) following seven years as a Research Assistant (1991-1997).

His academic foundation includes doctoral studies at the University of Stuttgart (1997-2001), civil engineering studies at the University of Stuttgart (1994-1995), and foundational education at the University of Calgary. He completed professional welding engineering certification (SFI) between 2006-2007.

Günther's research centers on fatigue behavior in steel structures, with particular expertise in welded connections for wind turbine towers, steel bridges, and composite systems.
