Hans Minkenberg

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans Minkenberg serves as a Professor at the Technical University of Central Hesse within the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics and Materials Technology. His office is located in Building A4, Room U1.05 at Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße 13 in Friedberg, Germany.

Professor Minkenberg specializes in thermodynamic processes with applications across energy technology, drive systems, and environmental engineering. His expertise spans conventional and renewable energy systems, power plant engineering, and heat transfer phenomena. He employs both computational modeling and experimental measurement techniques to optimize industrial processes and energy systems.

His research focuses on practical applications including thermal calculations for industrial equipment, modeling of complex energy supply systems, heat and mass transfer analysis, heat exchanger design, and CFD simulations for drying processes. Professor Minkenberg maintains strong industry connections through collaborations with ZEuUS (Competence Center for Energy and Environmental Systems Technology) and TransMIT (Project Area for Energy and Process Engineering).

For student engagement, he organizes excursions to significant energy facilities including the Fresenius Kabi energy center, SolidPower, ALSTOM, Mainova, and the RWE lignite-fired power plant in Niederaußem.
