Hans-Jörg Albrecht

Prof. Dr. Hans-Jörg Albrecht is an Emeritus Director at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law and a part-time professor at the University of Freiburg's Faculty of Law. His expertise spans criminal law, criminology, and legal policy, with a focus on sentencing theory, organized/environmental crime, and transitional justice systems.

Academically, he holds doctorates from the University of Freiburg and honorary doctorates from institutions worldwide. He has held professorships at universities in Germany (Konstanz, Dresden) and visiting roles in China, Hungary, Poland, and other countries.

Research interests include drug criminal law, juvenile delinquency, and the evolution of security policies. His awards include multiple honorary doctorates, academic honor awards, and international educator accolades.
