Hanns Möhler is a Full Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Zurich and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich. He served as Director of the Institute of Pharmacology (1988–2005), Director of the Swiss National Centre of Neuroscience Research (2001–2005), and Director of the Centre of Competence in Experimental and Clinical Pharma-Sciences (2003–2005). Currently, he is Vice-director of the Swiss National Centre of Neuroscience Research and a Fellow of the Collegium Helveticum.

Research Interests:
Möhler's work focuses on therapeutic neuroscience, targeting mental and neurological disorders such as sleep disturbances, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, pain, and dementia. His research explores molecular control elements of emotion and cognition through GABAA receptor subtypes, enabling novel drug design with reduced side effects.
Scientific Recognition:
Ranked among ISI Highly Cited Researchers in Neuroscience, Möhler has received prestigious awards including the Golden Kraepelin Medal and the Théodore-Ott Prize. He has held leadership roles in national and international research boards, including the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences and Collegium Helveticum.
