Hannes Devos is an Associate Professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center, affiliated with the School of Health Professions in the Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, and Athletic Training, with a joint appointment in Occupational Therapy Education. He directs the Neurorehabilitation course in the rehabilitation science doctoral program and co-directs the Laboratory for Advanced Rehabilitation Research in Simulation (LARRS) and Driving and Mobility Services clinic.
- Academic Background: B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physical Therapy (University of Leuven, Belgium), Ph.D. in Biomedical Science (University of Leuven), postdoctoral training in Neurology and Mechanical Engineering (University of Iowa)
His research explores the cognition-mobility intersection in aging and neurodegenerative conditions, focusing on early detection of mobility deficits, virtual reality interventions, and machine learning applications for preclinical Alzheimer’s disease and concussion recovery. Publications reveal expertise in EEG/ERP analysis, driving simulation, and sensory reweighting for Parkinson’s and multiple sclerosis.
