Hanne König

Hanne König is an academic Researcher at the Department of Scenography and Exhibition Design, Karlsruhe University for Arts and Design. She holds a PhD in Art Research, Exhibition Design & Curatorial Practice from the same institution (2017) and a multidisciplinary background in Art History, Comparative Literature, and Roman Philology from Eberhard Karls University, Tübingen (2007-2009). Since 2017, she has been an academic associate focusing on curatorial practices and feminist methodologies, while researching the intersection of curating with aesthetic practices like fiction, dance, and performance under the DFG-Graduiertenkolleg 2477 – Ästhetische Praxis.

Her research examines performative strategies in curatorial work, particularly how exhibition spaces address bodily politics through language, spatial design, and programmatic structures. She critiques traditional exhibition frameworks to explore collective versus individual experiences of art. König’s work emphasizes collaborative, transdisciplinary processes, evident in her exhibitions like 'Fake It Till You Make It' (2016) and 'KAROLINA SOBEL: If you are ok, I'm ok' (2019).
