Dr Hanne Eckhoff is an Associate Professor in Russian Linguistics and Comparative Slavonic Philology at the University of Oxford's Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages. Her research focuses on historical Slavonic linguistics, particularly Old Church Slavonic and the history of Russian. She leads the Tromsø Old Russian and OCS Treebank (TOROT) project, emphasizing computational methods and corpus-based analysis.
Her research interests include verbal aspect, information structure phenomena, and syntactic evolution in Slavic languages. She has contributed to large-scale digital corpus initiatives, advancing computational tools for historical language study.
