Hanne Andersen Dversnes is a PhD candidate and former Senior Lecturer at the Department of Nutrition and Public Health, University of Agder (UiA). She holds a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bergen and pedagogical qualifications. Her roles include teaching in teacher education programs for food and health, as well as bachelor’s programs in community-oriented nutrition.
Her research focuses on public health potential of school food education, particularly how teaching practices influence students’ food competence. She leads a PhD project investigating post-2020 curriculum implementation in food and health education. She is also involved in the Nordic Erasmus+ project 'Nordic Taste,' developing interdisciplinary textbooks on historical and contemporary Nordic food systems.
Key research interests include practical cooking, sustainable diets, food pleasure, and the integration of digital tools in education. Her work emphasizes curriculum development, teacher training, and interdisciplinary approaches linking nutrition with science and history.
Prior experience includes primary school teaching (food and health, physical education), and roles as a dietary advisor. She co-edits the journal Mat og helse i skolen and collaborates with Nordic institutions in teacher training initiatives.
