Hannah Thomas

Hannah Thomas is an Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Western Australia, specializing in the Microbiology and Immunology department. Her work focuses on addressing skin infections, particularly Streptococcus pyogenes and scabies, in remote Indigenous communities of Western Australia. She leads the SToP Trial (See, Treat, Prevent), a cluster-randomized intervention to reduce skin infections in the Kimberley region. Her research integrates environmental health strategies, cross-cultural collaboration, and community-driven solutions.

Research interests include skin infection prevention, public health interventions in remote areas, and the epidemiology of streptococcal diseases. Her studies examine household transmission dynamics, school hygiene protocols, and policy frameworks for sustainable health improvements.
