Dr. Hannah Nitschmann is an Academic Councillor at the Chair of Education for Physical and Complex Disabilities, Faculty of Human Sciences, University of Würzburg. Since May 2023, she has held this position while currently on maternity leave.

Research Focus:
Her research integrates theories of recognition with inclusive education, emphasizing body sociology and the corporeality of difference in classroom interactions. She explores how physical and social differences are negotiated in educational settings, aiming to develop inclusive didactics and pedagogical practices.
She has contributed to major projects such as KuBIn – Cultural Education and Inclusion and Inklunet – Information Platform for Inclusion, both funded by the BMBF and conducted at the University of Cologne. Her work is deeply interdisciplinary, combining empirical research with theoretical frameworks from sociology, pedagogy, and disability studies.
Scientific Contributions:
Her 2024 monograph Inclusion and Recognition published by Klinkhardt Verlag, and her numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, reflect her commitment to advancing inclusive education theory and practice.
