Hannah Claus is an Associate Professor in Studio Arts at Concordia University, Montreal. She is a Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) artist and scholar from Kenhtè:ke | Tyendinaga Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, whose practice explores Indigenous ways of knowing through material and sensorial relationships in contemporary art.
- Current roles: Co-director of the Indigenous Futures Research Centre
- Co-founded Quebec’s first Indigenous-led artist-run centre, daphne (2019–ongoing)
- Board member: Indigenous Curatorial Collective (2013–2018), Conseil des arts de Montréal (2017–2023)
Research & Artistic Focus:
- Indigenous methodologies in contemporary art
- Decolonial approaches to installation, sculpture, and fibre arts
- Connection to water, land, and Kanien'kehá:ka language (Kahrhiona'kó:wa)
