Hannah Bleher is a Researcher at the Department of Social Ethics, University of Bonn, and a Ministry Trainee in the Evangelical Church of Württemberg. She is part of the SFB 1483 EmpkinS Collaborative Research Center (funded by DFG), investigating the societal and ethical implications of AI-driven healthcare technologies. Since 2021, she has contributed to interdisciplinary teams of engineers, physicians, and ethicists. She previously held roles as a Researcher and Lecturer at the University of Bonn and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.
Bleher’s research focuses on AI ethics, governance of emerging technologies, feminist ethics, and political theology. Her doctoral thesis explores theological and political theories of compromise. She has been funded by the German Federal Ministry of Health (SMART Start: Sensor Technologies in Pregnancy Care project) and received the Zia Fellowship 'Visible Women in Science' (2023).
Her work bridges theology, ethics, and technology, addressing issues like healthcare innovation, digital justice, and structural inequalities. She has published widely on topics such as AI accountability, wearable health technologies, and intersectional feminist ethics. Her interdisciplinary approach is reflected in projects like the Digital Ethics Lab, a pedagogical initiative fostering digital sovereignty education.
