Hannah Übler is a Research Professor at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE), leading the Infrared/Submm Astronomy Group. Her research focuses on exploring the first billion years of cosmic history, particularly the emergence of galaxies and massive black holes. She received the ERC Starting Grant in 2024 for her project “APEX,” which utilizes the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to investigate early universe phenomena. Her work combines observational data from NIRSpec IFS and GA-NIFS surveys with theoretical models to study the first stars and black hole seeds.
