Dr. Hanna Witczak serves as a Professor in the Department of Fundamentals of Civil Law and Private International Law at the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration of the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL). She joined the faculty on October 1, 1997, and teaches civil law, property law, inheritance law, and real estate management across full-time and part-time law programs, including Proseminar/Seminar courses, Civil Law exercises, and specialized lectures on inheritance law.
Her research centers on property law with deep specialization in perpetual usufruct systems, civil law frameworks, and inheritance law. She examines the transformation of perpetual usufruct into ownership rights, analyzes its legal nature and interaction with marital property regimes, and explores evidence standards in family law matters such as paternity cases. Her scholarly approach integrates doctrinal analysis with practical judicial applications.
Analysis of her 1999-2005 publications reveals sustained focus on Polish property law evolution, particularly perpetual usufruct mechanisms. Her work demonstrates consistent examination of historical development, legal principles, and practical implementation challenges while connecting property rights to adjacent domains like family law and judicial procedures. This interdisciplinary perspective highlights dynamic interactions between statutory frameworks and real-world legal practice in post-communist land reform contexts.
Dr. Witczak maintains regular office hours on Wednesdays (5:15-6:15 PM and 8:00-8:30 PM in room C-706) and is accessible via university contact channels. Her teaching portfolio spans foundational civil law concepts to specialized topics in real estate management, reflecting comprehensive expertise across the civil law curriculum.
