Hanna Tigerstrand is an Associate Professor at Linköping University's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Department of Health, Medicine and Caring Sciences. As a physical therapist specializing in sports medical care, she teaches in the physical therapist programme and Sports Medicine courses. Her research focuses on ACL injury treatment evaluation and patient-reported outcomes.
Research interests center on sports medicine interventions, ACL recovery protocols, and physical therapy outcomes. Her work emphasizes multidisciplinary approaches to treatment decision-making and longitudinal assessment of rehabilitation effectiveness.
Publications predominantly investigate ACL treatment methodologies, patient-surgeon perspectives, and physical activity impacts on child development. Recent work demonstrates increasing focus on longitudinal cohort studies and psychometric validation of assessment tools.
Research involvement includes the SUNRISE project, SWIPE (Sport without injury programme), and NACOX cohort study. She currently co-supervises doctoral student Ellinor Nilsson from Karolinska Institute.
