Hanan Kashou is an Associate Teaching Professor and Arabic Language Coordinator at the Department of African, Middle Eastern, and South Asian Languages and Literatures (AMESALL) at Rutgers University. She holds a PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures from The Ohio State University. Her teaching spans elementary to advanced Arabic language courses, alongside literature and cultural studies.

Her scholarly contributions include analyses of Iraqi women’s novels and studies on Arabic language course development. She has presented on topics like 'Middle Eastern Languages in Diasporic USA Communities'.
Kashou actively advises student groups, including the Arabic Language Club at Rutgers, and serves on academic committees. She teaches courses such as 'Readings in Modern Arabic Literature' and 'Women Writers of the Middle East'.
