Professor Hana Cervinkova is a leading scholar in educational, political, and urban anthropology with a focus on East/Central Europe. She holds a Ph.D. from the New School for Social Research (2004) and currently serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Anthropology at Maynooth University. Previously, she held leadership roles at the University of Lower Silesia (2003–2019), including Rector, and directed the Centennial Hall UNESCO site preservation projects.
Her research examines nationalism, memory, and urban transformation, emphasizing silenced histories in post-socialist societies. Notable awards include the Teaching Hero Award (2021) and the Merito de Wratislavia Medal (2017). She leads international grants like the Horizon 2020-funded EDiTE doctoral program and has authored/co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles and books.
