Han Soo Kim serves as Associate Professor of Music and Head of Strings at Westmont College, an internationally acclaimed violinist praised by The Korea Times as a 'musical gift of rare beauty' with performances spanning four continents in venues including Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and Boston Symphony Hall.
His academic credentials include:
- Doctor of Musical Arts in violin performance (fellowship grant)
- Master of Music from The Juilliard School (merit scholarship)
- Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School (merit scholarship)
Dr. Kim specializes in Violin Performance and Chamber Music with repertoire ranging from classical standards to avant-garde contemporary works. His educational philosophy emphasizes innovative practice methods and performance techniques shared through global masterclasses, reflecting deep commitment to nurturing emerging musicians.
He founded and directs the Westmont Academy for Young Artists and serves as teaching artist at Italy's InterHarmony International Music Festival, while adjudicating for competitions including the New York International Music Competition. Dr. Kim performs as a Bella Rosins Artist on a 1721 Carlo Antonio Testore violin and records for Promessa Records and Spice Classics.
