Han Slootweg is a part-time professor in Smart Grids at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), affiliated with the Department of Electrical Engineering. He also serves as Director of Asset Management at Enexis, a leading Dutch distribution network operator. His work bridges academic research and industry innovation, focusing on the sustainability and optimization of energy systems, particularly the integration of Smart Grid concepts and the role of gas/electricity networks in the energy transition.
- Education: MSc in Electrical Power Engineering (1998), PhD in Power Engineering (2003) from Delft University of Technology, and MSc in Business Administration (2003).
Research interests revolve around:
- Technical analysis of Smart Grid concepts and their benefits
- Sensing, control, and optimization in distribution grids
- Legislative, regulatory, and economic aspects of energy systems
- Active distribution networks and their interaction with renewable energy sources
