Han Gyu Kang is a Researcher at the National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology (QST) in Japan since 2018, affiliated with the Department of Nuclear Medical Science and the Imaging Physics Group. He earned his BS (2012), MS (2014), and PhD (2018) from Eulji University, South Korea. His research focuses on medical imaging hardware, including PET detector development, preclinical imaging systems, and multimodal imaging technologies. Notably, he contributed to the GATE simulation toolkit and developed novel laparoscopes for clinical applications.

- High-resolution small-animal PET scanners using DOI detectors
