Hamid Omidian

Hamid Omidian is a Professor at the Barry and Judy Silverman College of Pharmacy within Nova Southeastern University, specializing in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Science from Brunel University (UK) and has over 35 years of experience in academia and industry.

Dr. Omidian’s research focuses on abuse-deterrent pharmaceutical dosage forms, gastric retention drug delivery systems, and hydrogels, with an emphasis on enhancing drug bioavailability and developing alcohol absorption reduction technologies. His work spans polymer science and pharmaceutical technologies.

He has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Golden Apple Award for teaching excellence and a President’s Distinguished Professor of the Year nomination for scholarship. Dr. Omidian also serves as Editor for journals like Journal of Bioactive and Compatible Polymers and Advanced Pharmaceutical Bulletin, and represents NSU’s College of Pharmacy at the United States Pharmacopeia Conventions (USP).
