Dr. Hamed Gamaleldien is an Assistant Professor in Earth Science at Khalifa University. His research focuses on advanced geochemical investigations of mantle and crust-derived rocks at multiple scales, contributing to understanding Earth's four-billion-year evolution, including mantle development, paleohydrosphere dynamics, and critical metal formation.
- Education:
- PhD in Applied Geology (Curtin University, Australia, 2021)
- MSc in Geology (Tanta University, Egypt, 2013)
- B.Sc in Geology (Tanta University, Egypt, 2008)
Research Interests include early Earth geodynamics, mantle chemical evolution, subduction zone geochemical cycles, mantle carbon recycling, and critical metal genesis. He employs isotope geochemistry, geochronology, and interdisciplinary methods.
Teaching: Courses on Earth Materials (EPSS210), Igneous & Metamorphic Petrology (PGEG331), and Geochemistry Earth System Science.
Research Staff:
- Jianfeng Ma (Post-Doctoral Fellow)
Current Projects:
- Exploring mantle plumes and supercontinental cycles in critical metal formation
- Early mantle evolution through isotopic records
- Ophiolitic mélange links to subduction zone metal deposits
