Professor Haluk Selvi is a distinguished historian at Sakarya University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of History. He has served as a full professor since 2010, following his progression from assistant professor (1999-2005) to associate professor (2005-2010).
His educational background includes a doctorate from Atatürk University (1994-1998) with a thesis on 'Erzurum in the War of Independence (1918-1923)', a master's degree on 'Celaleddin Arif Bey in the First Turkish Grand National Assembly', and undergraduate studies at the same institution. His academic journey began as a research assistant at Celal Bayar University (1994-1999).
Prof. Selvi specializes in Turkish history, particularly the National Struggle Period, Armenian Question, Ottoman History, and Atatürk's Principles. His research consistently examines historical events through primary source analysis, with particular focus on telegrams, official documents, and regional histories. He has published extensively on the Armenian issue, Ottoman-Russian relations, and the Balkan Wars period.
