Haley Tancredi

Dr Haley Tancredi is a Lecturer and co-leader of the Inclusion & Exclusion program at QUT's Centre for Inclusive Education. She holds a PhD from Queensland University of Technology (QUT), an MPhil in Education (QUT), and a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from the University of Queensland. Her research focuses on accessible pedagogies, teacher coaching, and inclusive education for students with language, attentional, and learning difficulties. She co-leads the Accessible Assessment Project (LP180100830) and collaborates internationally on qualitative methods involving students with communication disorders.

Her work bridges educational research and practice, emphasizing transdisciplinary approaches informed by her 20+ years as an educational speech pathologist. Professional memberships include Speech Pathology Australia and the AARE Inclusive Education SIG. Key collaborations span Australia, the UK, and Ireland, addressing teacher knowledge gaps in areas like Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and inclusive policy reform.

Recent research highlights include investigating the impact of accessible pedagogies on student engagement and leading studies on reciprocal reading-vocabulary relationships. Awards include the 2022 International Journal of Speech-Language Pathology Best Paper Award and the 2022 LDA Tertiary Student Award. She teaches courses on inclusive education, learning difficulties, and child development at QUT's School of Education.

Her projects include the Northern Territory Inclusive Education and Allied Health Project and the Central Queensland Inclusive Education Reform initiative. She advocates for student-centered approaches, emphasizing the rights of children with disabilities to equitable education under international frameworks like the CRPD.
