Hakkı ESKİCİOĞLU

Prof. Hakkı ESKİCİOĞLU is a Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering at İzmir University of Economics since May 2015. He previously served at Middle East Technical University (METU) from 1982 until his retirement in 1991, advancing through ranks from Assistant Professor (1982–1984) to Associate Professor (1984–1991) and eventually Full Professor (1991–retirement). His research focuses on CAD/CAM, Process Planning, Machine Tools, Numerical Control, and Cutting Optimization.

Education: B.Sc. (1973), M.Sc. (1975) from METU Mechanical Engineering; Ph.D. (1981) from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), Machine Tools Division. He conducted research at Hannover University (1988–1989) under the Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation.

Teaching: Courses include Manufacturing Technologies (ME 204), Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing, Numerically Controlled Machine Tools (ME 420), and Engineering Management. Recent courses span 2015–2025, emphasizing multidisciplinary engineering projects and automation.

Awards: Recipient of the Alexander Von Humboldt Scholarship (1987–1988) and Ministry of Education Ph.D. Scholarship (1977–1978). Authored Sayısal Kontrol ve Takım Tezgahları (2010), published by the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers.
