Hakim Weatherspoon is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Cornell University, serving as Associate Director of the Cornell Institute for Digital Agriculture (CIDA) and CEO/co-founder of Exotanium, Inc. He holds a PhD from UC Berkeley (2006) and a B.S. from the University of Washington (1999). His research focuses on distributed systems, networking, and digital agriculture, emphasizing fault-tolerance, security, and performance. He has led projects such as the Software-Defined Network Interface Card (SoNIC) and contributed to initiatives like the Supercloud and wireless data centers.

Research interests include network architecture, cloud computing, and interdisciplinary digital agriculture solutions. Notable achievements include the Kavli Frontiers Fellowship (2014), NSF CAREER Award (2011), and Sloan Research Fellowship (2011).
