Hakan ÇOŞAR is a Lecturer at Kastamonu University, Faculty of Theology, Department of Philosophy and Religious Sciences, where he has served since 2018. Previously, he worked at multiple institutions including Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (2014-2018), Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University (2014-2017), and Çukurova University (2000-2009). His academic journey began with a BA in Theology (1995), followed by an MA in Philosophy and Religious Sciences (2003), and a PhD in Islamic Philosophy (2009), all from Ankara University.
Research Interests: Specializing in Islamic Philosophy, he explores Logic, Philosophy of Religion, and medieval Islamic thought. His work bridges Islamic Ethics with Philosophical Systems, examining figures like Seyfeddin Amidi and Tusi, and analyzing the Isharat commentary tradition. He investigates Celestial Mechanics in Islamic Astronomy and compares Jewish and Islamic Philosophical Systems.
Scientific Impact: Collaborated on TÜBİTAK projects (2017, 2020-2023) and co-authored 4 journal articles, including contributions to Hitit İlahiyat Dergisi and Felsefe Dünyası. Authored 3 book chapters and delivered 7 international presentations. Recognized with the Academic Science Award (2016) and two 2015 awards for academic and service contributions.
Mentorship: Supervised 11 master's theses on topics ranging from Uygur Turfan Texts to 19th Century Kyrgyz Representatives of Dîvân-ı Hikmet Tradition, reflecting his commitment to nurturing emerging scholars.
