Haixue Yan

Dr. Haixue Yan is a Reader in Materials Science and Engineering at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and Principal Scientist at Nanoforce Technology Ltd. He joined QMUL in 2001, specializing in functional materials with textured, nano-, and metastable structures, including dielectrics, ferroelectrics, thermoelectrics, and ceramic-CNT composites. His research focuses on understanding structure-property relationships to optimize material performance for energy storage, sensors, and advanced applications.

Educations:

• Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Research Interests: Dr. Yan's work spans dielectric materials for high-power energy storage, lead-free ferroelectrics for piezoelectric sensors, microwave tunable ceramics, and THz technology for material characterization. His group explores sustainable engineering solutions, including aluminum can recycling and biomaterials. Recent projects emphasize high-entropy materials and nanostructured composites.

Notable awards include Fellowships from the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FIMMM).
