معرفی
Haim Dubossarsky is a Lecturer in Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London and an Affiliated Lecturer in the Language Technology Lab at the University of Cambridge. His primary affiliations include the Centre for Human-Centred Computing within Queen Mary's School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. He holds dual roles in both institutions, focusing on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of NLP, AI, linguistics, cognition, and neuroscience.
Haim's research interests span Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computational Linguistics, and Historical Linguistics, alongside contemporary Language Variation and Question Answering systems. His work emphasizes integrating advanced mathematical and computational methodologies across disciplines to address novel research questions that traditional approaches cannot tackle. This interdisciplinary focus bridges computational methods with cognitive and neuroscience insights, contributing to the development of AI systems that better understand and model human language dynamics.
His recent publications reflect a commitment to cutting-edge research in NLP and AI ethics, including hate speech detection and mitigating biases in language models. He has also contributed to multilingual NLP, developing datasets for Hindi polysemy and analyzing cross-lingual transfer challenges. Additionally, his work extends into neuroscience, investigating how the brain processes contextual information at event boundaries during natural experiences. These contributions highlight his ability to explore both technical and interdisciplinary dimensions of language and cognition.
Haim has secured notable grants, including:
- Mathematical Foundations of Intelligence: An Erlangen Programme for AI UKRI AI Hub (£1,026,205, EPSRC, 2024–2029)
- Change is key! The study of contemporary and historical societies using methods for synchronic analysis (£381,511, Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, 2022–2027)
- Co-Creator: Generative AI tools to boost creative processes in songwriting (£320,887, Innovate UK, 2024–2025)
His research group includes Ms Yiwen Chen and Mr Harshad Gupta as Research Staff, collaborating on projects at Queen Mary's Centre for Human-Centred Computing and the University of Cambridge's Language Technology Lab.
