Hafsa Kanjwal is an Assistant Professor of South Asian History at Lafayette College's Department of History in Easton, Pennsylvania. She specializes in modern Kashmir studies, focusing on colonialism, state-formation, and decolonization. Her groundbreaking work Colonizing Kashmir: State-building Under Indian Occupation (2023) examines India's colonial strategies in Kashmir post-Partition. She holds a PhD in History and Women’s Studies from the University of Michigan and a BS in Regional Studies of the Muslim World from Georgetown University.
