Hadjiemmanuil Christos

Prof. Hadjiemmanuil Christos is a Professor of International and European Monetary and Financial Institutions at the University of Piraeus and a Visiting Professor of Law at the London School of Economics & Political Science. He holds membership in the Athens Bar Association and the International Law Association's Monetary Law Committee (MOCOMILA).

• Education: LLB from Athens University, LL.M. and Ph.D. from University College London
• Former academic roles: Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Reader in Law at LSE (1997–2007)
• Consultant to IMF’s Global Bank Insolvency Initiative and UNDP’s Regional Centre for Public Administration Reform (RCPAR)

Research interests focus on European/international financial law, banking regulation, and EMU institutional frameworks. He has authored/co-authored major works on banking regulation and EU legal structures.

Past leadership roles include CEO of Hellenic Olympic Properties (2004–2007) and Chairman/CEO of OPAP S.A. (2007–2009). Currently chairs the Academic Advisory Board of Greece’s oldest think-tank, the Center for Political Research.
