Hadas Zohar is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology, Faculty of IT and Design, Aalborg University (Copenhagen Campus). Her work bridges design theory and urban practice through participatory approaches to city transformation, with emphasis on more-than-human perspectives and temporal dimensions.
Her core research areas include:
- Participatory Design for Urban Regeneration
- Visual Mapping of Temporalities
- Pluriversal Design Methods
- Theory of Change in Urban Contexts
- Temporary Urbanism Interventions
- More-than-human Participation Frameworks
Recent publications (2023-2024) reveal consistent focus on design-driven urban innovation, particularly through temporary interventions that foster long-term thinking. Her work integrates visual mapping techniques with participatory futures methodologies to address complex urban challenges, emphasizing co-creation between human and non-human actors in regeneration processes.
As Principal Investigator, Dr. Zohar leads significant research projects including T-Factor (2021-2024) on participatory futures in European urban transformation and Designscapes (2020-2021) for building urban capacity. These EU-funded initiatives demonstrate strong interdisciplinary collaboration across design, policy, and community sectors.
She actively disseminates findings through major international conferences (DIS, DRS, Nordes) and maintains robust research networks focused on urban design innovation and participatory methodologies.
