HUANG Limin

HUANG Limin serves as Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Dean of Shue Yan College at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), where he also previously held roles as Deputy Director of Chemistry and Vice Dean of Shue Yan College. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), he maintains active research and administrative leadership in Shenzhen, China.

He earned bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in Physical Chemistry from Fudan University (1991, 1994, 1997), followed by postdoctoral research at University of California, Riverside (2000-2002) and Columbia University (2002-2005). His academic career progressed from Assistant Researcher at Columbia University (2005-2009) to Researcher/Senior Researcher at City University of New York (2009-2012) before joining SUSTech in 2012.

His research centers on nanomaterials synthesis—including nanocrystals, carbon nanotubes, nanoporous materials, and 2D metal oxides—with applications spanning dielectric/chemical energy storage, catalysis, biosensors, nanoelectronics, and flexible printable devices. This work integrates materials characterization and micro/nanofabrication techniques to address energy and electronic challenges.

Analysis of his 140+ publications reveals consistent focus on nanomaterials innovation, with significant contributions in high-impact journals including three Science papers. His research trajectory shows increasing emphasis on energy storage applications and photoelectrocatalysis, reflected in recent publications and IEEE 1906.1 standard adoption.
