HAKAN ÇANDAR

Hakan Çandar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Gaziantep University's Faculty of Engineering. Since 2018, he has held this academic rank after serving as a Research Assistant from 2009 to 2018. He has also held administrative roles such as Department Erasmus Coordinator, Domestic Internship Coordinator, and Vice Head of Department between 2019 and 2021.

Research Interests:
Hakan Çandar's research spans several key areas in mechanical engineering. He focuses on non-traditional manufacturing processes, including laser-assisted cutting and waterjet-guided laser systems. His work on autofrettage and residual stress analysis in high-pressure cylinders contributes to structural integrity and safety in hydraulic systems. Additionally, he explores friction welding and surface quality enhancement in metal processing.
