معرفی
Dr. H.P. Buisman serves as High School Liaison at the Leiden Institute of Physics (LION), Faculty of Science, Leiden University. His work focuses on bridging the gap between university-level quantum physics research and secondary education through the Quantum Rules initiative.
His research interests center on quantum physics education and science communication, particularly examining how secondary school students perceive the relevance of quantum physics and technology. Buisman has developed educational interventions that aim to make complex quantum concepts accessible to high school audiences while demonstrating real-world applications.
The available publication demonstrates his focus on understanding student perspectives regarding quantum physics education. His work analyzes how educational interventions influence students' appreciation of quantum technology's importance in modern society.
- NWO Grant 400.17.607 for Quantum Rules project
Buisman has led the Quantum Rules project since at least 2018, developing quantum mechanics courses for physics teachers and creating educational materials for secondary schools. His outreach efforts include the five-year Quantum Rules lab initiative that focuses on student engagement with quantum concepts. The project has received NWA funding for communications research on quantum computing.
Through the Quantum Leiden initiative, Buisman contributes to creating educational pathways that prepare students for future quantum technologies, working closely with high school educators to develop relevant curriculum materials that connect classroom learning with cutting-edge research.
