H. Robyn Clarke serves as an Associate Professor of Spanish and Linguistics at Emory University, where she has been a faculty member since 2000. She holds dual administrative roles as Director of the Spanish Language Program and Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Program in Linguistics.
Her academic background includes an A.B. in Spanish from the University of Georgia followed by an M.A. in Spanish linguistics from the same institution in 1999. Prior to joining Emory, she gained international teaching experience in Salamanca and Madrid, Spain.
Professor Clarke's research focuses on Spanish linguistics with emphasis on second language acquisition, applied linguistics, and language pedagogy. Her extensive 30+ year teaching career spans high school and college levels for both Spanish and English language instruction, demonstrating deep commitment to language education methodology.
She maintains an active administrative presence through leadership of Emory's Spanish Language Program housed in the Callaway Center (office N511), directly shaping curriculum and instructional standards for Spanish language education at the university.
