H. Kris Jenssen is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Pennsylvania State University. His research focuses on hyperbolic conservation laws, compressible fluid flow, and partial differential equations. He holds a Ph.D. from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (1998). Jenssen's work emphasizes theoretical analysis of nonlinear PDEs, particularly in Euler flows and shock wave dynamics. His research explores phenomena like gradient blowup, self-similar solutions, and vacuum states in fluid dynamics. He has contributed to understanding instability mechanisms in compressible flows and shockless configurations. His recent work includes studies on BV-instability, radially symmetric solutions, and the interplay between geometry and PDE structures. Jenssen has secured grants for collaborative research on hyperbolic PDEs and nonlinear systems, reflecting his leadership in advancing fundamental mathematical theories.
