معرفی
Tristan Buckmaster is a Professor of Mathematics at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. His research focuses on fluid dynamics, partial differential equations, and mathematical physics, with emphasis on singularity formation, wave turbulence, and convex integration techniques. He was awarded the 2019 Clay Research Award for groundbreaking work on non-uniqueness of Navier-Stokes solutions. His current research explores compressible fluid dynamics, self-similar blowup phenomena, and rigorous frameworks for wave turbulence theory.
His work is supported by grants from the National Science Foundation (CAREER: Singularities in fluids, FRG: Collaborative Research on Incompressible Flows) and the Simons Foundation (Wave Turbulence). Notable contributions include advancing convex integration methods and applying physics-informed neural networks to study fluid singularities.
Research interests include shock formation in 3D Euler equations, analytic methods in hydrodynamics, and the kinetic theory of wave turbulence. His studies bridge theoretical mathematics with computational approaches, addressing longstanding questions in fluid mechanics and nonlinear PDEs.
