Gürsoy Turan

Gürsoy Turan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Izmir Institute of Technology (IYTE). His research focuses on structural dynamics, seismic response control, and vibration damping technologies. He completed his B.S. and M.S. at Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi and his PhD at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Key research areas include seismic mitigation using tuned mass dampers, Bayesian-based structural model updating, and structural health monitoring. His work addresses challenges in tall building design, cable-stayed bridges, and soil-structure interaction effects.
