Prof. Dr. Gürdal Tuncel is a Professor at the Department of Environmental Engineering, Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey. He holds academic positions since 1987, progressing from Assistant Professor (1987-1988) to Associate Professor (1988-1994) before becoming a full Professor in 1994. His administrative roles include Assistant Chairman of the Environmental Engineering Department (1988-1990) and leadership in international projects funded by IAEA, EU, and TÜBİTAK.
**Education**: B.S. (Chemistry, METU, 1976), M.Sc. (Chemical Oceanography, METU, 1978), Ph.D. (Nuclear, Analytical & Environmental Chemistry, University of Maryland, 1985).
**Research Interests**: Focus on long-range pollutant transport, precipitation chemistry, receptor modeling, aerosol analysis, and environmental policy.
