Günter Frank

Günter Frank is an Adjunct Professor at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), contributing to philosophical research and teaching. He has held long-term roles as a private lecturer in philosophy at the Free University of Berlin since 2001 and as a lecturer there since 1997. Additionally, he curates the Melanchthon House in Bretten (since 1998) and directs the European Melanchthon Academy Bretten (since 2004).

• Education: Doctorate from the Pontifical Gregorian University (1994). Studies in theology, psychology, and philosophy at Warsaw, Erfurt, and Vallendar/Rhine.

His research focuses on the intersection of philosophy, history of science, and religious studies, with particular emphasis on modern science philosophy, medieval and Reformation-era theology, and humanism. He has explored these themes through grants from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Scientific awards include a research fellowship at the University of Chicago (1993–1995). He has also received funding for historical and philosophical studies at institutions like the Herzog August Library and the Warburg Institute.

His academic contributions extend to curatorial leadership at the Melanchthon House and directorship of the European Melanchthon Academy, reflecting his dedication to humanism and theological history.
