Gözde TURAN is an Associate Professor and Deputy Chair of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Antalya Bilim University. She joined the university as a full-time faculty member in 2017. Her academic journey includes a PhD in International Relations from Bilkent University, along with master's and bachelor's degrees from Ankara University. She teaches courses on Global Governance, International Organizations, Human Rights, and Public International Law.
Her research focuses on international criminal law, critical theory, gender studies, and human rights. Key areas of exploration include the intersection of security discourses, poststructuralist approaches to international relations, and the legal frameworks governing war crimes and humanitarian issues. She has contributed to journals such as Cooperation and Conflict, Journal of Gender Studies, and Feminist Legal Studies, emphasizing critical analyses of global governance structures and political power dynamics.
Gözde TURAN’s publications span topics like the political economy of international criminal prosecutions, security exceptionalism in conflict zones, and poststructuralist critiques of security policies. Her work bridges legal theory, political philosophy, and practical governance challenges, offering innovative perspectives on contemporary international relations issues. She actively engages in interdisciplinary research, particularly at the nexus of gender studies and human rights law.
