Götz Veser

Götz Veser is a Professor and Nickolas DeCecco Professor at the University of Pittsburgh's Swanson School of Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering. He serves as Associate Director of the Center for Energy and maintains an active research program in catalysis, energy conversion, and nanomaterials. His work bridges fundamental surface science with practical energy applications.

His research interests focus on fuel processing, microreactor technology, nanomaterials, and nanotoxicity. Dr. Veser's group develops innovative catalysts and reactor designs for energy conversion processes, particularly chemical looping technologies for clean combustion and syngas production. His work on bimetallic nanoparticles has revealed novel stabilization mechanisms at high temperatures, with applications in harsh reaction environments.

His publication record shows consistent output in high-impact journals and conferences, with recent work emphasizing metal-organic frameworks for separation, core-shell nanocatalysts, and process intensification for natural gas utilization. The research demonstrates strong interdisciplinary connections between chemical engineering, materials science, and energy technology.
