Göran Stemme is a Professor and Head of the Division of Micro and Nanosystems at KTH Royal Institute of Technology's School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). He leads research in micro and nanotechnology, with a focus on biomedical applications, MEMS, and energy harvesting. His group develops advanced devices such as microneedle patches, nanopore sensors, and 3D-printed microsystems.
- Education: M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology.
- Leadership: Former Co-PI of the Digital Futures Faculty Seed funding project.
Research interests include medical technology, microfluidics, optical systems, and novel fabrication techniques. His work bridges academia and industry, with over 430 publications and 50 patents. Key contributions include pioneering MEMS sensors for diagnostics and energy harvesting.
Recent articles highlight innovations in nanopore sensors, 3D-printed glass optics, and self-sealing drug delivery nozzles. Awards include the IEEE Robert Bosch Award (2021) for MEMS contributions.
